What Should You Check Before Ordering Custom Corrugated Boxes?

Check product fit, box closure, board strength, insert requirements, and artwork placement before ordering. Your shipping method also determines whether extra cushioning or an outer carton is needed. PACKZINO helps you review these details and confirm the proposed structure with a sample before bulk production.

Keep Products in Place

Too much empty space lets products move; too little makes packing difficult. We check the layout and recommend inserts or dividers where needed. A structural sample lets you try your actual products and check how the box packs and closes.

Know What Your Shipping Box Needs

A corrugated box may still need an outer carton or cushioning. Tell us what you are shipping and how it will travel. We review the board, inserts, and packing arrangement, and identify any testing needed before you approve the packaging.

Packaging buyer and supplier reviewing PPWR timelines, material specifications, and packaging samples during a sourcing meeting.

What Should Buyers Ask Packaging Suppliers About PPWR?

PPWR is changing how packaging buyers evaluate materials, structures, documentation, and future compliance requirements. In this guide, I explain what buyers should ask packaging suppliers before approving new projects or reorders. I cover material specifications, packaging BOMs, laminations, window films, inserts, recyclability, food-contact considerations, supplier documentation, and structural optimization. I also explain why buyers should review packaging step by step instead of redesigning everything at once, using sampling and performance testing to reduce sourcing and production risks.

PET vs PLA Window Films for Packaging: Which Is Better?

PET and PLA are the two most common transparent window films used in paper packaging. While PET is widely valued for its durability, clarity, and established recycling infrastructure, PLA attracts brands seeking renewable materials and compostable packaging options. This guide compares PET and PLA window films from a packaging buyer’s perspective, covering sustainability, recyclability, transportation performance, cost considerations, and real-world applications. It also explains when each material makes the most sense based on product requirements, distribution conditions, and brand sustainability goals.

Food-safe barrier coating blocks grease and moisture from penetrating paperboard fibers in food packaging

What Food-Safe Barrier Coatings Are Used in Paper Packaging?

Food-safe barrier coatings play a critical role in protecting paper packaging from grease, moisture, oxygen, and water vapor. This guide explains how different coating technologies such as PE, PLA, wax, water-based, and dispersion coatings work, and when they should be used. It also compares barrier requirements for chocolate, bakery, coffee, supplement, and frozen food packaging. Buyers will learn how to evaluate packaging risks, choose suitable barrier solutions, and prepare more accurate RFQs for custom food packaging projects.

A mailer box typically has a hinged lid and locking tabs, making it useful for branded deliveries and gift sets. A regular slotted shipping carton usually closes with tape and suits bulk packing. Both can use corrugated board; protection depends on board specification, contents, and packing.
Use internal dimensions to specify the usable space your products need. External dimensions matter for freight calculations, storage, and outer cartons. Clearly label which measurements you provide, and include space for inserts or cushioning. Board thickness and box structure affect the difference between internal and external size.
White surfaces generally provide a more neutral background for full-color artwork, while brown kraft changes how printed colors appear. Choose according to your design and intended look. For detailed graphics, a printed paper liner can be laminated to corrugated board; confirm the result with a sample.
Standard corrugated boxes are not waterproof. Moisture can weaken the board and affect its shape or strength. Coatings may improve surface resistance, but they do not make the entire box waterproof. For damp storage or delivery conditions, review protective wrapping, exposure time, and testing with your supplier.
Corrugated dividers separate glass bottles and reduce contact between them, but they do not automatically provide enough cushioning for parcel shipping. Protection also depends on bottle weight, movement, clearance, and outer packaging. A fitted insert or additional cushioning may be needed, followed by testing of the packed products.
Yes, a tear-strip mailer can support returns when its structure remains usable after opening and includes a second adhesive strip or another secure closure. A tear strip alone does not provide resealing. Check the opening sequence, return closure, and box condition during sampling before choosing this option.
